CUET
2023 is almost here! Approximately 13 lakh candidates will be writing CUET this
time and will compete for just over 3 lakh seats in 240+ participating
universities. Among all the participating universities, University of Delhi (DU)
will as always be the main attraction. DU offers approximately 70 thousand
seats in total in its 90+ constituent colleges.

But
all the students aspiring for a UG seat at a DU college should know that,
merely applying and taking the CUET will not be enough for taking admission in
DU. Candidates have to fill up the DU CSAS Application form separately to be
able to take part in the DU UG admission counselling process.
 

In
a recent release by the university, it has informed all the candidates seeking
admission to Undergraduate programs of University of Delhi, that the University
will soon be inviting applications for admissions to its UG programs through
the Common Seat Allocation Systems (CSAS – 2023). Aspirants who are desiring to
applying for various UG programs of DU under any of the category [SC/ ST/
OBC-NCL/ EWS/ Minority (only in UG)/ PwBD/ CW/ KM (only in UG)] should
definitely ensure that all their certificates & documents, are ready in
time and are valid. Candidates are required to upload the relevant documents (as
applicable) at the time of applying to CSAS of DU.

Candidates
must ensure that the SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ Minority (only in UG)/ PwBD/ CW/ KM (only
in UG) Certificate are issued in the name of the Candidate only, by the
competent issuing authority as mentioned in the respective Bulletins of
Information.

The
detailed requirements as declared by the University are as follows:

 

  •      OBC
    Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, in the name of the Candidate, must be issued by
    the competent issuing authority, and wherein the caste is in the OBC Central
    List issued by http://ncbc.nic.in. Income certificate must be issued after
    March 31, 2023, as stipulated, will be required.

  •      EWS
    Certificate
    , in the name of the Candidate, must be issued from competent
    issuing authority certifying the candidate can claim reservation under this
    category. EWS certificate issued after March 31, 2023, as stipulated, will be
    required.

  •      Educational
    Concession Certificate (ECC)
    , in the name of the Candidate is must for CW
    candidates. The certificate must be in the correct format wherein the Priority
    is mentioned clearly.

  •       PwBD
    category certificate should be in the name of the candidate issued by the
    Competent Medical Authority/ recognized Government Hospital, bearing duly
    attested photograph of the candidate. The name of the candidate claiming
    reservation must match with the candidate’s name as it appears on their
    corresponding School Board qualifying certificates and in the CUET(UG) – 2023/
    CUET(PG)- 2023. Similarly, the parents’ names must also match in the
    certificates.

 

No
undertaking on behalf of incomplete/invalid/non-availability of the
document/certificate at the time of applying to CSAS will be accepted. The CSAS
application form is expected to be released sometime in the month of June or
July. Candidates must keep on checking the admission portal of the DU
(admission.uod.ac.in) for all updates, schedules and information regarding the
CSAS 2023.
