CUET (UG) is the brainchild of the MoE & UGC. It has revolutionized the entire UG admission landscape across India. CUET 2024 will be the sole gateway for UG admission to 250+ universities. Students must understand the CUET (UG) exam and prepare accordingly to ensure they secure a UG seat at any of the best colleges in the country.

CUET (UG) is broadly divided into 3 sections. Depending upon the student's choice of course and college, and their respective eligibility criteria, they need to choose subjects from the three sections and write the test. The three sections of CUET (UG) are as follows:

> Section I - Languages (33 Language)

> Section II - Domain Subjects (27 Subjects)

> Section III - General Test

English is the most popular language in section I, which is chosen by the students in CUET. General Test is section III of the CUET paper. Both these papers play an important role in the selection of the students to the best courses across the top universities.

To enable students to prepare in the most effective manner, mentioned below are the detailed strategies and tips to prepare English & GT for CUET (UG):

> Understand the Exam Pattern: Learn the exam pattern, including the number of sections, types of questions, and time allocated for each section. This will enable you to develop your preparation plan more efficiently.

> Create a Study Plan: Create a detailed study plan that indicates the topics you must cover and when you will study them. Use a proper amount of time for each subject on your strengths and weaknesses.

> Grammar and Vocabulary: Refresh your knowledge of grammar rules and add words to your vocabulary by reading English books, papers, and articles on the internet. The grammar rules, sentence structure, and lexical skills involving grammar are dealt with through practice exercises.

> Reading Comprehension: Exercise reading comprehension skills by studying different sources and genres, such as fiction, non-fiction, and academic texts. Improve your reading speed and understanding by giving general ideas and points or details.

> Referring to Useful Resources: For English refer to any book or online source to practice Reading Comprehension (RC). For the General Test (GT), refer to newspapers daily, and keep yourself updated with current affairs.

> Use Active Learning Techniques: Practice active-learning methods of summarizing, teaching to others, and problem-solving to ensure mastery of the material and improve retention.

> Mock Tests and Practice Papers: Practice the CUET English section through mock tests and practice papers. This will help you get used to the exam format, question types, and time limits.
