DU CUET UG Cut off 2025 – Beginning in 2022, DU solely considers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) scores to admit students to undergraduate programs across its constituent colleges. The university releases the college and course-wise DU CUET cutoff, which students must fulfill, apart from meeting the course-wise DU CUET eligibility criteria.

The entire UG admission process of DU is administered through an online common seat allocation portal. Once the CUET results are declared and the university opens the online registration portal, students are advised to register, pay a small fee, and keep a tab on the subsequent steps for the admission process.

Students are allotted colleges and courses based on their CUET score, course preferences, category, and seat availability through this online DU CSAS portal.

What Is CUET & Why Does It Matter for DU UG Admission

Established in 1922, with just three colleges and 750 students, it has grown into one of the largest universities in India with 16 faculties, 86 academic departments, 91 colleges, and over seven lakh students. A total of 540 programs offered by the University are approved by the Academic and Executive Councils.

Since 2022, CUET UG (approved by UGC and conducted by NTA) has been the sole gateway for DU UG admission to all of its constituent colleges and the UG programs they offer.

Key sections in CUET:

  • Section I: 13 Languages
  • Section II: 23 Domain-specific subjects
  • Section III: General Aptitude Test (optional for some programs)

DU uses normalised CUET scores/percentiles (out of 1000) for UG admission purposes.

How Are DU CUET Cut-offs Decided?

DU doesn’t release traditional cutoff lists publicly anymore. Instead, the college & course-wise DU CUET cutoffs are released online only on the students’ dashboard on the CSAS portal, and students are allotted seats via the portal itself.

Factors deciding CUET DU cut-off:

  • CUET scores
  • Course & college preferences
  • Category (GEN, OBC, SC/ST, EWS, PwD)
  • Availability of seats
  • Reservation policy & merit rank
  • Tie-breaker rules like class 12 Board marks and age

Below is an approximate CUET score range required for top DU colleges and programs. Therefore, the CUET DU cutoff approximation has been done out of 1000 (total marks for 4 subjects in CUET UG).

DU CUET Cutoff – Subject-Wise CUET Eligibility Criteria

DU maintains a uniform CUET eligibility criterion for all of its UG courses across all the constituent colleges. Usually, all the courses require students to appear for either two languages and two domains or one language and three domains.

Another important criterion for DU CUET eligibility is that whatever subjects students choose in CUET, they must have studied that in their class 12, or a similar subject that has at least 50% similarity in syllabus. For a completely dissimilar subject, CUET GAT scores will be considered.

The following are the DU CUET eligibility criteria for some courses offered by the top DU colleges.

SRCC

  • B.Com (Hons): Any Language (List A) + Maths/Applied Maths + 2 subjects (one from List B1)
  • BA (Hons) Eco: Language + Maths/Applied + 2 subjects (one from List B1)
