IIM Bangalore Admission Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree of 50% marks minimum or equivalent CGPA.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category has eligibility criterion relaxed to 45%
- The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification must be a minimum of three years after the completion of higher secondary education.
- Should the candidate hold grades/CGPA instead of percentage marks; the equivalence is based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained from. If the certification of the equivalence is unavailable from the desired university, the equivalence is certified by IIM Bangalore.
- Undergraduates in their final year or undergraduates waiting for the final results are eligible to apply for admissions. However, candidates are required to present a certificate from the current university/institute’s head determining/confirming the same on his or her behalf.
- Should the candidate get selected for admission, he/she is expected to submit the official confirmation certificate from the current undergraduate university/institute latest by June 30, 2019.
- Candidates who are selected and are offered admission, are supposed to be submit their mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination on or before June 30, 2019. The last date to submit, however, is December 31, 2019.
- Aside from holding a graduate degree from a recognized institution, another very crucial IIM Bangalore Admission Eligibility Criteria is CAT score. Candidates are expected to have appeared CAT with a minimum score percentile for the consideration of admission.
IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria
IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria consist of two stages. The first stage is the preliminary screening with weightage divided between past academic records and CAT exam score (higher weightage to CAT). The second and final selection Criteria consist of Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Test Ability (WAT).
- The preliminary stage is based on the division of weightage between CAT score and academic background. CAT score builds up 40% weight, Academic Profile builds up 50%, Work Experience builds up 8%, and Gender Diversity builds up 2%.
- To be under the weightage category of professional course, IIM-B only considers candidates with Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accounting, and Company Secretary certifications.
- For getting shortlisted, a candidate must hold a minimum sectional percentile score of 80 in Quantitative Aptitude' (QA), ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning' (DILR) and, 85 sectional percentile score for ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension' (VRC).
- Along with sectional scores, a candidate must also score a minimum CAT overall percentile of 90.
- Candidates with brilliant academic record are awarded with higher points during the shortlist rounds.
IIM Bangalore Final Admission Selection Round Criteria
- Shortlisted candidates are automatically eligible for the Final selection round conducted by IIM Bangalore.
- During the final admission round, Personal Interview (PI) amounts up to 30% weightage, 10% weightage to Written Ability Test (WAT), 25% weight to CAT Score; 10% weight to Higher Secondary score; 5% weight to Senior Higher Secondary score; 10% weight to Bachelor’s degree marks and 10% weight to work experience.
