CMAT Syllabus 2024: Pattern, Syllabus and Section-Wise Topics

The CMAT syllabus is prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for the National Testing Agency (NTA). It consists of five subjects: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The CMAT syllabus is expected to be released by the NTA in February 2024.

In 2021, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship section was introduced as a fifth and optional section in the CMAT syllabus. However, in 2022, it was made mandatory for all CMAT test takers. Therefore, the CMAT exam syllabus now consists of five subjects. Candidates planning to appear for the CMAT 2024 exam must prepare all the important topics of these five subjects.

The CMAT is a fast-paced entrance exam that assesses a candidate's skills in quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, logical reasoning, verbal ability, English language comprehension, innovation and entrepreneurship and general knowledge. 

The CMAT syllabus 2024 is divided into five sections. The CMAT exam has 100 questions in total, with 20 questions in each section:

CMAT Syllabus 2024: CMAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The CMAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship section tests candidates' understanding of the entrepreneurial process. Topics covered include:

  • Idea generation: How to come up with new and innovative ideas.
  • Opportunity assessment: How to identify and evaluate business opportunities.

Marking scheme of CMAT 2024

The marking scheme for the CMAT 2024 exam is as follows:

  • Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks.
  • For each incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted.
  • Unanswered questions do not carry any penalty.

This means that candidates can maximize their scores by answering all of the questions correctly, but they can also minimize their losses by avoiding incorrect answers.

The CMAT exam is a computer-based test (CBT), so candidates will be able to see their scores immediately after completing the exam. However, the percentile score will be released a few weeks after the exam.
