Countdown to CAT: Prepare in 2 Months
Cracking CAT in the last two months before the exam date can prove to be a difficult task. But you should remember that CAT is an aptitude test and broadly covers school-level concepts of Mathematics and English. With regular practice and a well-put-together study plan, you can be prepared to give your best shot at acing CAT 2023.
Here’s a strategy to prepare for the CAT exam in the remaining two months:
Week 1-2: Diagnostic Analysis and Planning
> Take a diagnostic CAT mock test to understand your current strengths and weaknesses.
> Analyze your performance and create a detailed study plan for the next two months.
> Ensure that you allocate time to each section based on the analysis.
Week 3-4: Strengthen Your Basics
> Focus on reviewing and revising essential formulas and concepts for the QA section.
> Solve practice questions and take sectional tests to work on the DILR section.
> Practice reading comprehension passages regularly to improve accuracy and speed.
Week 5-6: Focus on Practice
> Attempt past year papers to understand the types of questions and exam pattern of CAT.
> For every attempt, conduct an in-depth analysis and note your progress.
> Once the admit card is out, practice mocks in the slot allotted to you in the actual exam.
Week 7-8: Revisions & Exam Strategy
> Take full-length mock tests every 2-3 days to simulate the exam environment.
> With the numerous mocks you have taken, focus on building your test-taking strategy.
> Begin revising all the concepts and formulae you have covered previously.
Last Few Days Before the Exam:
> Reduce the number of mocks you take and avoid taking any on the last day.
> Put an emphasis on revising formulae, shortcuts, and important topics.
> Ensure you have all the required documents and materials ready for the exam day.
On Exam Day:
> Make sure you get enough sleep the night before the exam.
> Carry all the required documents to the test center.
> Reach the center well in advance to avoid any last-minute stress.
You will need to adapt this plan based on your sectional and topic-wise strengths and weaknesses. But do ensure that you assess your progress, stay calm, and maintain a positive mindset. CAT preparation requires dedication and hard work, so make the most of these two months to achieve your best possible score.
