Once you have reviewed the entire syllabus and familiarized yourself with the exam pattern, you should try attempting a mock. Attempting a mock, in the beginning, will help you understand where you are beginning your preparation and help align it better with your end goal. Also, you will be able to identify your weak and strong areas.
However, you should regularly start taking mocks only once you have completed the entire syllabus. After completing the sections and topics, you can choose to take short tests of the specific section but take up full-length mocks regularly only after you are confident you have completely covered your syllabus.
Moving forward, you can start taking one mock per week and analyze your performance to identify the weak areas that require more practice. As your performance starts improving and the exam date comes closer, increase the number of mocks you attempt per week. Mock tests will help you practice a plethora of questions and prepare well for the actual exam.
