Is it Necessary to take Maths as a domain subject in CUET for B.Com (H) in DU?

CUET is the mandatory qualifying entrance test, that every student has to undertake who aspires to take admission to DU in any of the UG courses. This is a national-level entrance test that gives an equal and common opportunity to all students across the country for admission to not only DU but 250+ universities (including 45 central universities).

There is a common eligibility criteria for CUET which is only for the purpose of filling out the CUET application form. Apart from this, all the participating universities will also announce their individual course-wise eligibility criteria for admission. Students must check the detailed eligibility criteria of the course for the university to which they are seeking to take admission for their UG.


The University of Delhi (DU) is one of the top destinations for UG aspiring students in the country. Almost 40% of the total applicants of CUET have opted for DU as their option. Therefore, there will be tough competition for admissions to any UG courses offered by any constituent colleges of DU.

To be specific among all the courses offered by the university, B.Com (H) will require the students to opt for either Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/ Accountancy/Bookkeeping as a compulsory domain subject. The detailed eligibility criteria for B.Com (H) for DU admission are given below:

 

> Course Name: B. Com. (Hons.)

> Subjects Mapped to the Program: Anyone from Section I + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/ Accountancy/Book Keeping + Any two from Section II

> Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must appear in CUET in any of the following subject combinations:

> Combination I: Anyone Language from List A + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + Any two     subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1

                                                   OR

> Combination II: Anyone Language from List A + Accountancy/Book Keeping + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1


Merit will be based on the best CUET scores obtained from any of the above-mentioned combinations of subjects.
